Inspiration
I have always been fascinated by what makes a house a home. Houses appear throughout my work, carrying questions of belonging, memory and the places we hold close. As an immigrant, this imagery has a deeply personal meaning: home is something we leave, search for and create again.
Home is where the heart is traces a path towards a house, inviting us to reflect on the love we nurture within its walls, whatever may be happening outside. It is an expression of the warmth we create for ourselves and for those we welcome into our lives.
The colours were carefully chosen to embody that love: a warmth that begins within and radiates outwards. Through colour and tactile texture, the piece explores home as both a physical place and an intimate feeling. Our soul, too, is a home, a place to tend with tenderness, where belonging begins.
