This piece can be seen in many ways. For some, it may be night; for others, day. For some, the sun; for others, the moon. For some, waves; for others, clouds. And I love that 🤍 because what I want with this work is to raise awareness for social change, no matter our differences. We may see things differently, but we should unite for peace.
I used two different tufting guns and only three colors to create this piece. The moon glows red, symbolizing change and honoring the innocent lives lost in Iran. Its blood red color also represents the courage of Iranian women protesting and risking their lives for freedom.
The waves carry a subtle 3D effect, flowing like whispers of healing, while a touch of bright blue represents light at the end of the night. I emphasized the 3D effect because it represents movement, which in turn symbolizes migration. For me, it is a way to honor the innocent immigrants who are losing their lives in America.
So yeah, this work was created while reflecting on the sad news we’re hearing from around the world lately (and also those we’re not even aware of yet). But it is a work created with faith. It calls for strength, forgiveness, and reclamation. It reminds us that even in the darkest night, we humans are creating movement, and that peace will come ♥️.
